It’s the long weekend! And the forecast calls for sunshine! There are tons of activities happening in Montréal this weekend, here are some of our suggestions.
[sunday dance party] PIKNIC ÉLECTRONIK – The Montréal summer institution kicks off its 2010 season with DeeJays Elio Krass, Kevin Yost, Lucie Lebel & Jeff Fontaine. Bring a picnic, some wine coolers and sunscreen! YES YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL!
[gay party] HOT & DRY – One of the biggest gay parties of the year will be shakin’ the gay village this weekend. Get in there and get sweaty.
[comedy] MONTRÉAL SKETCH FEST – If improvisation is your thang, then you don’t want to miss the last few days of this celebration of fast thinking and collaborative spirits.
[contemporary african dance] MONTRÉAL BY NIGHT – Local choreographer and performer, Zab Maboungou, guides her dance troupe through an aesthetic journey of art as it relates to music, poetry, mythology and ritual. You’re not going to get this anywhere else.
[restaurant] VERSES – This is one darn beautiful rooftop option for the sunny weekend ahead. Look north towards the mountain, or south over the St. Lawrence River. And yes, you’re allowed to bring your camera.
[burlesque] THE BARE NECESSITIES – An evening of debauchery held at the legendary Café Cleopâtre. Choose between Thursday, Friday or Saturday shows. Wear protection if you’re in the front row.
[museum] CONTEMPORARY ART – The Musée d’Art Contemporain takes an interesting approach for its current retrospective on Borduas, a key figure in the history of Québec and Canadian art.
