It’s supposed to be another stunning weekend in Montréal. Here are nine fun and diverse ways to tackle the city!

[festival] TRANSAMÉRIQUES – A powerful blast of theatre and dance from seventeen cities, a dozen countries and four continents will sweep through Montréal as the fourth edition of the Festival TransAmériques shakes up the city.

[museum] MONTRÉAL MUSEUMS DAY – Once a year Montréal museums open their doors to everyone… for free! This year it’s happening on Sunday, May 30. Make sure you do some stretches if you plan on seeing everything.

[dance party/rollercoaster] ADRENALINE – La Ronde, Montréal’s Six Flags Amusement park, is launching a new rollercoaster called EDNÖR. Join Girlicious, MC Mario and more for an all night dance/rollercoaster party.

[restaurant] DNA – This stylish bistro has culinary creations so pretty you’ll think you are eating art. You are. Afterward dining, keep the creativity flowing with a show. Or just wander the romantic cobblestone streets of Old Montréal and snap some photos.

[gay times] AIRES LIBRES – This weekend marks the opening of pedestrian heaven on Sainte Catherine Street East in the Gay Village. The forecast calls for sunshine, so install yourself on a patio, sip some sangria and soak up the scenery!

[clothing swap] TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES – Okay, maybe it’s not the most obvious thing to do on a weekend getaway, but if you have a limited budget and want some new duds, this is a fantastic option.  Already 300+ people confirmed on the Facebook event!

[opera] CENDRILLION – In a nutshell: a fairytale. In the 1950s, a young girl spends her time daydreaming. She dreams of fairies, of a magic wand, of a life transformed, by a truly charming prince. Go and discover if she finds him!

[dance party] THE GOODS – A funky evening of no-frills charm. Held at Sala Rossa, one of our fave locations on the Plateau, The Goods is a soulful dance music party where you can shake yer booty and smile. May 29.  Featuring Slakah the Beatchild.

[roller derby] BLOCK N’ROLL – Full-length bouts featuring Montréal home teams against Boston and Waterloo. Get there early as these rock’em, sock’em events always sell out!
