Thursday nights under the stars at New City Gas

If Wednesday is hump day, Thursday is now bump day thanks to New City Gas. Griffintown’s hottest event venue is opening its amazing terrasses every summertime Thursday, 4-11 pm. There’s no better view of Old Montreal from up there – you’ll feel like you’re king of the city…

It isn’t every club that can claim over a century and a half of history. New City Gas is one of those must-see spots in Montreal, a club whose stunning building dates back to 1859. Last year, when it was transformed into the show bar that it is today – they host 3,000 people a week! – the developers preserved the heritage building’s façade so that it’s intact. Ergo the club’s name; this used to be the headquarters for the local gas company. Now it’s an electrifying place to party to the backbeat of DJs like Sebastian Ingrosso, Victor Calderone, Bob Sinclair and more

On the menu for the Thursday 5 à 7s (Montreal’s version of the post-work “happy hour”) are the creative cocktails dreamt up by New City Gas’s resident superstar, the mixologist Lawrence Picard. Prepare your taste buds for drinks like his “Birds of Paradise”, with Absolut and blood orange juice; his “La Vie en Rose”, with rosé and homemade melon syrup; or his “Lavendar Loves Litchi”, made with Jameson and hand-crafted lavender essence. Can somebody say summer?
