CIRCUS FESTIVAL TO DEBUT IN MONTRÉAL

After jazz and comedy, Montréal is adding circus arts to its international swag, thanks to a brand new arrival on the city’s already vibrant festival scene!

Starting July 8, all eyes will be on “Montréal Complètement Cirque”, an international summer festival dedicated to circus arts. Makes sense for a city that is home to Cirque du Soleil, right?

The festival will showcase more than 100 artists from all over the world, including Belgium, Germany, Spain and Canada.

It’s also going to be a rare platform to launch the careers of many acrobats, dancers, funambulists, gymnasts and other super-humans capable of the most jaw-dropping physical feats…on a personal note, I’m still trying to put my leg behind my head.  After many hours of hot yoga, I’m still failing miserably.

My dear legs, however, are very talented for getting me places, including the three main venues that will be hosting the shows during the 18 days of festivities. I’m talking about La TOHU, the Old Port of Montreal and Quartier Latin. Many important Montreal cultural centers will also be involved, such as Usine C, Lion d’Or, Olympia and Espace Go.
