  • CONCERTS IN MONTREAL : MARCH, APRIL, MAY 2010

    Posted by

Like the city itself, Montreal’s concert scene begins to heat up in the spring before exploding into an almost-overwhelming array of music when the summer festival season rolls around…

There’s a little something for everyone in this list, but the shows that really stand out are the ones that fall into the “once in a lifetime” category. Peter Gabriel with an orchestra? Sign me up. Simon & Garfunkel?!? My dad actually emailed me from a beach in Mexico to ask about getting him tickets to that show. Which brings up a good point: while some of these concerts are not happening for a while, don’t wait to buy your tickets or you’ll be forced to go the scalper route.

After all, if your trip to Montreal already has a Simon & Garfunkel concert on the itinerary, the blog you’re currently reading is more than equipped to fill up the rest of your schedule with great stuff to eat, see and do…

Black Lips : March 26th @ Studio Just Pour Rire
Blue Rodeo : March 27th @ Salle Wilfrid Pelletier

Julian Casablancas : April 1st @ Le National

Miike Snow : April 2nd @ Club Soda

    The xx : April 3rd @ Metropolis

    Metric : April 10th @ Salle Antoine-Labelle – Récréathèque

    Gogol Bordello : April 18th @ Metropolis
Charlotte Gainsbourg : April 23rd and 24th @ Olympia de Montreal
Corinne Bailey Rae : April 28th @ Club Soda

Peter Gabriel : April 28th and 29th @ Bell Centre

    Yeasayer : May 2nd @ Sala Rossa

    Simon & Garfunkel : May 15th @ Bell Centre

    David Gray : May 26th @ Theatre St-Denis

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings : May 26th @ le National

And just as a teaser, on July 16th and 17th some scrappy little Irish band coming to Montreal…here’s a HINT
