DRAG QUEEN MAKEOVER

Let it be known: Being Montreal’s Gay Life insider is a fun job. My mission is to search Montreal high and low to find the best of gay life and gay-friendly activities in this city and summarize it all for LGBT travelers. My work has numerous requirements: attend sexy Montreal parties, dine in hip bistros, meet fascinating people and even work the streets of NYC (it was “promotion”… really.) I need to be Internet savvy and create content that will pique your attention.

But nothing in my job description ever said anything about eyeliner.

Yet, last week I found myself sitting backstage at Montreal’s infamous Cabaret Mado getting an Extreme Drag Makeover, and thinking to myself, “Wow, I might have the craziest job in the world.” But despite my initial reservations, when I had those fake eyelashes glued on and that cracked-out Heather Locklear wig, I felt like a vixen.

(Editorial note: next time this vixen might have to shave her armpits.)

The queens at the cabaret were cordial and welcoming, and helped me create a memorable evening. And now with this video, I’ll never have the chance to forget it!

If this doesn’t pique you, I don’t know what will.

(Okay, I could think of a couple of things.)
