EMERGING ART FESTIVAL IN MONTREAL

Back for a 7th edition, Montreal’s international festival,  Les Escales Improbables (translation: improbable pauses), returns to the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal between September 8 and 12.

On the menu: dance, music, performance, visual art and theatre – all very improbable of course!

Based on the idea that roaming and relaxing are the most effective ways to experience art and cultivate one’s imagination, Les Escales Improbables de Montreal is a celebration of emerging art forms set in a bohemian context.

More than 70 artists from New York, Germany, France, Ontario, Quebec and Montreal are participating in this great art showcase, intended for users to rediscover their everyday environment, to look at it differently.

The day events will be held from September 10 to 12 from 2pm to 7pm, with Sunday évents starting at 1pm. They consist of a route featuring 11 stops, with many projects presented around the Canada Water Basin, opposite the Montreal Science Centre.

In the evening, activities are moving indoors, to different venues located accross Montreal.

Highlights include the latest installment of Jacques Poulin-Denis, at Monument-National on the 8 and a performance by New York’s Banana Bag & Bodice at the Lion d’Or on the 9.  On the 10, look for Cicks on Speed at Club Soda.
