  • MONTREAL GETS BLACK AND BLUE

    Posted by

I was hired to be a nightlife blogger for Montreal because I know the city’s nightlife scene fairly well. I was also hired because if I don’t know much about something specific, chances are I know someone that does. With a scope as wide as “things that happen when it’s dark,” there’s no way I’m going to love all of it. I bring this up because, while it’s not really my scene, the Black & Blue ravedown happening on Sunday October 11th, might be yours…

Let’s be clear, the decadent, devil-may-care hedonism of partying well into the next day with people of every shape, colour and sexual orientation is not lost on me. Frankly it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why this is one of Montreal’s biggest nightlife parties. And this year they’ve got some huge names like Franco Fabi, Sasha & John Digweed, Dave Seaman and Stéfane Lippé DJ’ing the event. They’ve also got a whole weekend of stuff going on that you can out more about here, including the awesomely named “Recovery Party.” (How does one recover from a recovery party?)

So, while you won’t see me there, I’ll understand exactly why you’re there. And since I’ve somehow turned into my mom during this post, make sure you drink lots of water.

Black and Blue, October 11th 2009, 9PM-12PM, Palais des Congrès de Montréal, 1001 Jean-Paul Riopelle
