Seriously.  There’s absolutely no gimmick in that “five stars” rating. Everything at the Sofitel hits you as being top of the line.  Starting with the service.

Four clés d’or concierges  (one of them being the actual vice-president of the international union) make sure every single customer gets what they want, when they want it.  The decorum adopted by the staff speaks for itself: the moment you step in, the staff makes you feel like royalty.

As for the rooms, they scream comfort, from the smallest to the larger suites (you can even call for spa services in your own room). During the daytime, the rooms bathe in gorgeous natural light, thanks to large windows which offer stunning views on Downtown Montreal.  Guests who fancy history will appreciate the original details the architects blended with the modern decor, such as the wooden doors found in certain rooms and at the entrance of the restaurant, as well the fireplace and chandelier in the lobby, all originally owned by the Van Horne family, whose family house used to stand where the hotel is today.  A very elegant touch that also helps preserve Montreal’s Golden Mile history.  And if you’re a true art lover, well, one of Sofitel’s best kept secrets are the exhibitions shown in its gallery space on the first floor.  This month, for example, guests will be spoiled with a fashion photography exhibit, organized in collaboration with Paris’ Polka Galerie.

RENOIR RESTAURANT
