  • THE MONTREAL BURLESQUE FESTIVAL: SEPT 23 TO 26

    Posted by

The second annual Montreal Burlesque Festival promises to be bigger and better, with more nipple pasties and sexy stripteases than one could ever dream.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, here’s a brief definition of burlesque, for those who are unfamiliar with the seductive world:

Burlesque acts can be anything from classic striptease to modern dance to theatrical mini-dramas to comedic mayhem. As with the earlier feeling, Burlesque is more focused on the “tease” in “striptease” than the “strip”.

Hosted at one of Montreal’s most beloved entertainment venues, Club Soda, the tantalizing Montreal festival will showcase a variety of local and international talent over four days at the end of September.

Festival events include a fashion show, workshops, brunch and enough after party mayhem to situate Montreal as the newer, more sinful Las Vegas. But if burlesque, for you, is all about sitting back and being entertained, then you’ll want to check out the three big nights:

Thursday: All-Canadian Showcase: Oh Canada! – Your chance to see local performers. Perfect for those who follow the 100 Mile Diet.

Friday: International Showcase – The festival is bringing a taste of the world. No boundaries, just global titalizing.

Saturday: The Big Gala – The main event where the world’s top burlesque headliners will striptease you into a state of delicious flusteredness.

So come to Montreal, and get yourself some hootchy-kootchy.  And if you’re lucky, one of them nipple pasties might slip off and fall in your lap.

    It’s Montreal. Anything could happen.

PREY: If you’re a single guy lookin’ for some sweet hunnies, you’ll want to swing by Candi Bar. Ladies looking to grab some man meat might want to check out the action on Saint Laurent Boulevard. And if you’re a gayster, we’ve got a whole homo village for you.

GLOVE: If you consider yourself among the kinksters of the world, here are 6 Fetish Stores in Montreal. Some new leather gloves will inevitably help you get spanked silly.
