  • MONTREAL ATTRACTIONS: THE AMPHI-BUS

    Posted by

The Amphi-Bus is a unique Montréal guided tour that traverses land and water.

I had seen this transformer/nemo-esque machine cruising the streets of Old Montréal in the past, and had a developed a secret ‘Amphi-Bus Crush’ – I knew I wanted some of that fun adventure!

So I grabbed my friend Safa and we went voyaging.

We had a riot! Here’s a quick video to give you a sense of the Amphi-Bus…

Insider Info: Amphibus offers tours during the Montréal summer Fireworks competition. You’ll be whisked onto the St. Lawrence River for the best views of the pyrotechnic art shows!

Where to Stay: If you are here with the family, the Hyatt Regency has a fun indoor pool with a balcony over looking Quartier des Spectacles!

Where to Eat: After the ride, take the gang up to Place Jacques-Cartier for many restaurant options with patios and the chance to watch comical street performers.

What else to Do: If the Amphi-bus increases your appetite for Montréal History, visit Pointe-à-Callière to keep learning about the birth of Montréal!

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	And if Montreal had only one thing, it'd be love - even at the Biodôme! The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	I was in Montreal last winter (February) just after the death of one of my parents. I really needed to get out of Toronto at that time, to reflect, and to surround myself with new stimuli. It was very cold during the visit, but I spent a lot of time walking around anyway, taking photos, going to galleries, and visiting restaurants with old friends. This shot is on Sherbrooke, just west of the Main. I've posted this before, in a flickr pool called "It can't be more Montreal than this". I like this image because it looks like it's very cold out, and yet there are people moving about in what I think is one of the country's most charming cities. That morning we packed our bags and sought out crepes for breakfast before heading to the station. I cried while packing because I didn't want to leave - the four days we had spent in the city had been perfect. We decided to take one last stroll while waiting for our train. We walked out to the street only to discover it was closed off for the Pride Parade! I took a few minutes to snap some shots of everyone waiting for the parade to begin.
