Yoav is a one-man, music phenomenon. His music is based primarily on his own vocals, his guitar and his trusted foot-pedal mixer (that he affectionately calls “The Beast” – photo below). After touring the world for the past couple of years, his diligence is paying off with a #1 iTunes album and an ever-increasing fan base.
But despite his nomadic ways, Yoav considers Montreal to be one of his home bases. And it’s no wonder. He has had massively successful shows at Osheaga and the Montreal Jazz Festival, and the video for Yellowbrite Smile was recorded on the streets of Montreal this past winter.
I caught up with Yoav shortly before his sold out show at Club Soda.

Aux Vivres – “I’ve tried everything on the menu, and I love it all.” Aux Vivres is arguably the most famous vegan restaurant in Montreal.
Garde-Manger – “I sat at the bar the other night and ate one of the best steaks of my life.” This is the darling bistro of bad boy chef Chuck Hughes. Reservations a must.
La Chilenita – “Empanadas are so good!” Cheap and delicious is the perfect recipe for lunch. Three locations around Montreal to eat and run.
