  • BAR ET BOEUF: SEVEN COURSES FOR $59!

    Posted by

There’s a new restaurant in town, and does it ever look promising! Bar et boeuf, which opened on May 6, offers an intriguing menu – duck foie gras terrine with hibiscus, Brussels sprouts with rice krispies, wild sea bass with green peas, wasabi-spaghetti squash – for an even more intriguing price: seven courses for $59 (or $109 with 5 glasses of wine)!

    So, what’s the catch?

As far as I can see, the only catch is that it’s brand-new, so I haven’t had a chance to dine there yet. But with a downtown location and well-known chef Alexandre Gosselin (formerly at Le Local and SimpléChic), the ingredients are all there for a tremendous success.
If reservations are not required already, they will be soon, so call ahead.
Dress code: casual-chic. Expect to spend about $40 per person (before taxes and tip).
Been to Bar et boeuf already? I’d love to hear about the experience. Send me a message on Facebook or Twitter!

That morning we packed our bags and sought out crepes for breakfast before heading to the station. I cried while packing because I didn't want to leave - the four days we had spent in the city had been perfect. We decided to take one last stroll while waiting for our train. We walked out to the street only to discover it was closed off for the Pride Parade! I took a few minutes to snap some shots of everyone waiting for the parade to begin.
