  • GO COMPLETELY COCOA IN MONTREAL

    Posted by

What type of chocolate lover are you?  Are you the conservative type who likes a sweet treat with coffee or tea?  Are you the adventurous kind, looking to test your palate with the widest range of flavours possible?  Or are you the child-like type who would dine on chocolate only?  If you aren’t sure but are ready to find out, here are three of Montreal’s hottest chocolaterie to choose from during your next cocoa pilgrimage.

    LE MAÎTRE CHOCOLATIER

Rich in tradition, this almost-hidden shop also has its own tearoom, on the second floor – the best place to experience the full refinement of those chic cocoa gems and exclusive tea selection.

    1612 Sherbrooke street West, Montreal(Qc) H3H 1C9 / 514.544.9475 www.lemaitrechocolatier.ca

    SUITE 88

Precious chocolates, presented under slick glass counters, that make you feel like a kid at the toy store, all over again.  The chocolate waffles are a staple.

    3957 St-Denis street, Montreal (Qc) H2W 2M4 / 514.844.3488

    1225 de Maisonneuve Blvd West, Montreal (Qc) H3G 1M3 / 514.284.34.88 www.suite88.com

    JULIETTE ET CHOCOLAT

I always thought that one of the great pleasure of all things chocolaty is to eat A LOT of it.  Indulge in a Chocolate fondant and a cup of hot chocolate à l’ancienne and you’ll understand the true meaning of being filled!

    3600 St-Laurent Blvd, Montreal (Qc) / 438.380.1090

    377 Laurier street West, Montreal (Qc) H2V 2K3 / 514.510.5651

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	This is the view from our hotel room when my cousins and I spent the weekend in Montreal last July. The window looks directly up Avenue McGill College, to McGill campus and the mountain. I lived in Montreal during my time at the university, but this weekend was the first time my three cousins had been to the beautiful city. We spent the entire weekend walking up and down St. Denis, eating La Banquise's poutine in Parc La Fontaine, and napping in Parc Jeanne-Mance. But that first view of the city after our arrival at the hotel was definitely a moment that left my newbie cousins in awe of Montreal. I really needed to get out of Toronto at that time, to reflect, and to surround myself with new stimuli. It was very cold during the visit, but I spent a lot of time walking around anyway, taking photos, going to galleries, and visiting restaurants with old friends. This shot is on Sherbrooke, just west of the Main. I've posted this before, in a flickr pool called "It can't be more Montreal than this". I like this image because it looks like it's very cold out, and yet there are people moving about in what I think is one of the country's most charming cities.
