Apparently cheese gnocchi is a classic dish from Northern Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. Wish I had known that when I went to Italy. Oh well, the chef at Graziella (who makes all the pasta by hand) took my tastebuds back to the Old Country anyway. Actually, since the food at this restaurant is so good, I recommend going with a few friends and sharing several dishes, family-style. The strozzapreti white rabbit stew is astounding and the perfectly cooked osso-bucco with risotto is also a must. Oh, and if it wasn’t enough, Graziella also has the magic touch when it comes to dessert. The semifreddo (iced nougat) with pistachio and chocolate did me in.

So thanks for sharing, Gerry. These kinds of tips are always welcome. If any of you readers know of great places for pasta in Montreal, post a comment here. I’m all ears (and stomach).
