Each year in March, the South by Southwest Conference & Festivals (better known by its acronym, SXSW) is the go-to gathering of some of the hottest names in music, film, politics and tech. The interactive component of the conference alone drew over 37,000 people from 82 countries in 2016, and featured speakers like Barack Obama, J.J. Abrams and Jimmy Wales.

A major presence at SXSW for Québec technology innovators

This year, SXSW attendees may notice a little je-ne-sais-quoi in the air with the arrival of the largest-ever delegation from Québec. Led by the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation, more than 40 businesses and entrepreneurs from four territories of the province (Montréal, Québec City and the Mauricie and Estrie regions) will showcase home-grown innovations from March 12 to 15 at booth 1121 at the Austin Convention Center.

Panels, demos and workshops will be organized to present Québec’s savoir-faire in the sectors of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), medtech, transportation, and the creative and digital industries. The goal is to seek out business opportunities and to forge strategic partnerships with peers from around the world.
