As the world’s cities expand, integrated mobility and intelligent transportation systems will change the face of how we get around. From October 29 to November 2, world leaders in research and implementation will gather in the Palais de congrès de Montréal to discuss, debate and demonstrate the newest concepts in intelligent city living. With over 5,000 attendees from around the globe and a packed program of events and presentations, the ITS World Conference 2017 will set trends and lead the way forward.

Easy to get to from anywhere

Intelligent Montréal

Home to a vibrant aviation and transportation industry featuring some of Canada’s biggest names in the sector, Montréal offers the perfect meeting point and testing zone. And the city’s no stranger when it comes to hosting major transportation events, including the 2017 UITP Global Public Transport Summit. And did we mention that the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) named Montréal its Intelligent Community of the Year in 2016 ranking the city alongside other world leaders like New York, Eindhoven, Singapore and Stockholm? (IFC co-founder Robert Bell breaks down all the reasons why here).

The Smart Cities Pavilion

As part of the ITS World Conference’s programming, the Smart Cities Pavilion will take over part of the Palais de congrès and demonstrate the most groundbreaking innovations from smart cities around the globe, echoing the exchange of ideas and networking from Montréal’s legendary Expo 67 50 years on. It’s a true example of cities working together to find a better way to innovate and grow for the betterment of world populations.

Taking it to the streets

Now this is exciting. Above and beyond the debates and exposition, ITS is putting ideas into action. Working with the city of Montréal, ITS will convert the adjacent area around the conference headquarters into a test bed showing off a selection of new concepts to the test including connected vehicle and DSRC technologies. There’s no better way to convince than to demonstrate, and this weekend of exchange and exhibition will give an eye-popping experiential glimpse into what’s to come.
