What is TASTE MTL?

It is an invitation to Montrealers and tourists to celebrate the great variety and richness of our restaurants at an affordable price. For 11 days, TASTE MTL provides an excellent opportunity to discover new places to eat by sampling their fare with fixed-price table d'hôte menus combined with special events offered in some restaurants.

There is quite a lot to celebrate! A member of the World Good Food Cities Network, Montréal is world-renowned for the diversity and quality of its establishments. Since 2005, the city's restaurants have regularly placed in the top 10 Best New Restaurants in Canada according to Air Canada's enRoute magazine. Furthermore, Montréal has been ranked as the 6th best foodie destination by Travelocity (2007).

Share your culinary experiences with your network with the hashtag #MTLaTable and showcase Montréal gastronomy and its talent with pride!

Is TASTE MTL a new concept?

No. This event is known as "Restaurant Week" and occurs in most major American cities, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Miami, as well as in major Canadian centres such as Vancouver and Toronto. These weeks are, for the most part, initiated and organized by the respective host city's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Who organizes TASTE MTL?

Tourisme Montréal is organizing the TASTE MTL event as part of its expanding markets strategy in order to position Montréal as a gastronomic destination and to create business opportunities in a generally quiet time of year.

Will a restaurant's regular menu be available during TASTE MTL?

This is up to the discretion of the restaurant. Please note that all orders outside the TASTE MTL menu will be charged at the regular price.
